Air Fryer Breaded Pork Chops

Posted by

Air Fryer Breaded Pork Chops are a simple and tasty meal that gives you crispy results without deep frying. These pork chops have a crunchy breaded coating on the outside and stay juicy and tender on the inside. Cooking them in an air fryer makes the process faster, cleaner, and healthier than traditional frying.

This recipe uses a mix of Italian-style bread crumbs and panko bread crumbs. This combination creates extra crispiness while still holding onto the pork nicely. Eggs help the coating stick, and basic seasonings add great flavor without overpowering the meat.

These pork chops are perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, family meals, or when you want comfort food without too much effort.

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Servings

  • Makes 4 pork chops

Equipment Needed

  • Air Fryer
  • Two shallow dishes
  • Oil mister or spray bottle
  • Meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, center cut pork chops, about ½ inch thick
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Italian style bread crumbs
  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • Minced parsley (for garnish)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Egg Mixture

Crack the eggs into a shallow dish. Use a fork or whisk to beat them until the eggs are fully mixed and smooth. This egg mixture will help the bread crumbs stick to the pork chops.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread Crumb Coating

In a second shallow dish, add the Italian-style bread crumbs and panko bread crumbs. Mix in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cracked pepper. Stir everything together until the seasonings are evenly spread throughout the bread crumbs.

Step 3: Coat the Pork Chops

Take one pork chop and dip it into the egg mixture first. Make sure both sides are coated with egg.
Next, place the pork chop into the bread crumb mixture. Press it gently into the crumbs so the coating sticks well to the meat. Turn it over and repeat on the other side.
Repeat this process for all pork chops.

Step 4: Prepare the Air Fryer

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil spray. This helps prevent sticking and supports even browning.

Place the breaded pork chops in a single layer inside the basket. Leave a little space between each chop so hot air can move around them. If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook the pork chops in batches.

Step 5: Spray and Cook

Spray the tops of the pork chops generously with oil spray. This helps the coating turn golden and crispy.

Set the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
Cook the pork chops for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, open the air fryer and carefully flip each pork chop over. Spray the other side with oil spray.
Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, or until the pork chops are fully cooked.

Step 6: Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The pork chops should reach 150°F. Cooking time may change depending on the thickness of the pork chops and the air fryer model you are using.

Step 7: Finish and Serve

If you are cooking in batches, repeat the steps with the remaining pork chops. If needed, rewarm cooked pork chops in the air fryer for 2 minutes.

Before serving, sprinkle minced parsley over the pork chops for a fresh look and extra flavor. Serve hot and enjoy.
