Air Fryer Apple Pie Roll-Ups are a quick and tasty dessert that brings the comforting flavors of apple pie in a simple and fun form. Instead of making a full pie, this recipe uses soft bread filled with sweet apple pie filling, rolled up, coated in butter and cinnamon sugar, and cooked in the air fryer until golden and crispy.

This recipe is perfect when you want a warm dessert but do not want to spend a lot of time baking. The air fryer cooks the roll-ups quickly, creating a crispy outside while the apple filling inside stays soft and sweet. Each bite tastes like a small apple pie.

These roll-ups are great for dessert, snacks, or even a sweet breakfast treat. They are also easy enough for beginners to make. With only a few ingredients and simple steps, you can prepare a delicious homemade dessert in minutes.

The combination of warm apples, cinnamon sugar, and buttery bread makes these roll-ups very comforting and satisfying. They are also fun to serve for family gatherings, parties, or weekend treats.

Yield: 8 roll-ups

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 8 minutes

Total Time: 18 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread
  • 1 cup apple pie filling, chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Rolling pin
  • Small bowls
  • Pastry brush (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

Take the slices of white sandwich bread and remove the crusts from all sides. Use a rolling pin to gently flatten each slice of bread. Flattening the bread helps it roll easily and keeps the roll-ups sealed while cooking.

Step 2: Add the Apple Filling

Chop the apple pie filling into small pieces if the apple slices are large. This makes the filling easier to roll inside the bread.

Place about 1–2 tablespoons of the apple filling near one edge of each flattened bread slice.

Step 3: Roll the Bread

Starting from the side with the apple filling, carefully roll the bread tightly into a small roll. Press the seam gently so the roll stays closed.

Repeat the process for all slices of bread.

Step 4: Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir well until evenly combined.

This mixture will give the roll-ups a sweet and slightly spiced coating.

Step 5: Coat the Roll-Ups

Brush each roll-up with melted butter on all sides. After brushing with butter, roll the bread in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

The butter helps the cinnamon sugar stick and also helps the roll-ups turn golden and crispy in the air fryer.

Step 6: Cook in the Air Fryer

Place the coated roll-ups in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Leave a little space between each roll so they cook evenly.

Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 7–8 minutes, or until the roll-ups become golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Step 7: Serve

Remove the roll-ups from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two. Serve them warm for the best flavor and texture.

They can be enjoyed on their own or served with toppings like whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you want extra flavor, add a small pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Make sure the bread is rolled tightly so the filling does not come out during cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed for even crisping.
  • These roll-ups taste best fresh and warm, right after cooking.
